The Electric-Type Answer

Ground is completely immune to Electric-type moves -- not resistant, immune -- making it the single cleanest counter to a type that would otherwise run through a team unchecked. That defensive niche comes with real offensive teeth: Ground is super effective against five types (Fire, Electric, Poison, Rock, and Steel), tied for the widest spread of any type in the game. Rhyperior backs that up with 140 Attack and 130 Defense, and Mamoswine adds 130 Attack on top of Ice-type coverage.

Weak to Water, By a Wide Margin

The tradeoff for that offensive spread is a hard weakness to Water, Grass, and Ice -- three types that show up on nearly every team. Landorus splits the difference by pairing Ground with Flying and a well-rounded 125 Attack / 115 Special Attack spread, while Groudon (670 base stat total) and Zygarde (600) lead the type's legendary tier.
